Spring Salamandering at the Grand River Terraces

Spring Salamandering at the Grand River Terraces

Presented by Cleveland Museum of Natural History at Grand River Terraces preserve

INSTRUCTORS: DR. TIM MATSON, ROBERTA MUEHLHEIM, AND GARRETT ORMISTON

Join Dr. Tim Matson, Curator of Vertebrate Zoology, Roberta Muehlheim, Assistant Curator of Vertebrate Zoology, and Garrett Ormiston, GIS and Stewardship Specialist for Natural Areas for a special curator-led night hike!

Join us for a nocturnal hiking excursion as we explore the forested wetlands and vernal pools at the Museum’s Grand River Terraces preserve. Early spring is the time of year when frogs and salamanders breed in vernal pools; encountering the season’s sights and sounds firsthand is a truly unique experience! We will also keep our ears open for the sounds of owls and other creatures that occupy the forest at night.
