Jared Diamond writes about baseball for The Wall Street Journal, which isn’t a bad newspaper to write for. He’s not, however, a beat writer. His stories focus on broader aspects of the game, including the quirks of the sport. And, of course, Major League Baseball has plenty of quirks.

In 2020, he published a book titled “Swing Kings: The Inside Story of Baseball’s Home Run Revolution.” Diamond, a Syracuse graduate, will talk about his book on the long ball in this episode of “Talking Baseball!”
