DiscoverE: Perseverance: Week 1 on Mars!

DiscoverE: Perseverance: Week 1 on Mars!

Presented by Cleveland Museum of Natural History at Online/Virtual Space

Join the Astronomy Department to learn how Perseverance made it to Mars, why its landing site was selected, and what its first seven days tell us about the Red Planet. The mission will attempt to produce oxygen from the Martian atmosphere, search for evidence of ancient life, and cache rock samples that may be returned to Earth in the future. NASA even sent along an experimental helicopter to test the feasibility of flying on Mars!

Discover E is sponsored by The Friends of the Cleveland Museum of Natural History (formerly called The Women’s Committee). The Women’s Committee began in 1940 and has contributed more than $1.75 million to support the Museum’s programs.
