Multiblock Relief Printing Two-Day Virtual Workshop with Ben Muñoz
Dates: Saturday March 27th & April 3rd, 1-2:30pm EST on Zoom

For this two-part virtual class, we will carve wood or linoleum using various v and u gauges. We will be going over how to hand-print, transfer key images, and register blocks from home using things you have laying around your house! By the end of the workshop students should have their key image transferred to multiple blocks and have several finished prints.
Supplies Needed:
*Multiple wood or linoleum blocks, the size is up to you although I would recommend staying
small. No larger than 8×11.
*Brayer (4 inch speedball brayer)
*Black printmaking Ink (Gamblin relief ink)
*Colored printmaking Inks (Gamblin relief inks) the colors are up to you.
*Ink Slab (any flat clean surface around your house will do)
*Printmaking paper
*Newsprint or copy paper
*Veggie oil (for oil based ink) or water (for water based ink)
*V and U gauges (Speedball Linocut Tool or Power Grip set)
NO SUPPLIES WILL BE PROVIDED WITH PURCHASE – Equipment and materials to be provided by the student.
Benjamin Muñoz is an award winning printmaker and sculptor living in Dallas, Texas. His work is often reflective of his heritage, upbringing, and current surroundings. Muñoz often stacks the imagery in his work to symbolize the idea of everything in life being dependent on what came before it. This idea of family and how each generation supports the succeeding one has become a central focus in his recent work. A largely self taught artist, Muñoz has had several solo exhibitions and his artwork is in several museum collections and private collections across the United States. Muñoz has had articles about his work published and discussed in several arts and culture publications, blogs, podcasts and portfolios. He also regularly gives artist talks at studios, galleries, and universities throughout the country.
