Street Ephemera Virtual Workshop

Street Ephemera Virtual Workshop

Presented by Zygote Press at Online/Virtual Space

Dates: Saturday, March 6th and 13th, 12-1:30pm EST on Zoom

This two-part course will introduce students to transitory and print-media based approaches to street art. We will begin with a survey of printmaking-based ephemeral street art and public art campaigns and then discuss specific techniques and ethics regarding expression through street art. With this new knowledge as inspiration, the class will go out into their own neighborhoods to look at and photograph street art. In the second class, students will be encouraged to share with the class what they found – and will also learn how to make wheat paste.

Wheat Paste Materials:

Water

Flour (1/2 cup)

flat paint brush 1” to 3” (any inexpensive flat brush will do)
