Live Performance of Ronald K. Brown/EVIDENCE Broadcast in real-time from The Joyce Theater in NYC
After a brief hiatus due to Covid-19, the remarkable company comes together again on stage and continues its 35th Anniversary celebration with a special live performance on February 18th at 8 pm EST!
For this live streaming program, the company has assembled a selection of solos and duets to perform from their repertory including the luminous solo from Grace, Brown’s breakout piece performed first by the Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater 20 years ago. The program also features Mercy, an ethereal movement meditation that seeks to guide our hearts, set to music by Meshell Ndegeocello; For You, a tribute to the incredible legacy and leadership of the late American Dance Festival co-creator Stephanie Reinhart; She is Here, a celebration of self–determination and perseverance of mothers and teachers who have inspired living with integrity; Palo y Machete, a solo work from One Shot inspired by the life and work of noted photographer Charles “Teenie” Harris who documented black life in Pittsburgh; and March, an extraordinary duet set to Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.’s speech on the value of a man.
Virtual Performance Tickets for the live show are $25 and give you access to the real-time performance at 8 pm EST, February 18th, as well as on-demand streaming access until March 4th.
