A Virtual Healing Arts Workshop - Kirigami

A Virtual Healing Arts Workshop - Kirigami

Presented by Hospice of the Western Reserve at Online/Virtual Space

The Healing Arts Workshops are led by a Board-certified art therapist and provide grieving people with a creative outlet for their grief. No art experience is necessary.

Kirigami is a variation on Origami, the Japanese art of paper-folding. The result looks complicated but is simple to make. Our focus will be on the creative process, which can help us relax and reflect.

We use Microsoft Teams for the virtual workshop sessions, which is similar to Zoom. When you register, you are sent an email inviation with a link to join the workshop. New supplies for the art assignment are shipped to you, and they will be yours to keep.

Each workshop consists of two sessions, a week apart. In the first session, a theme or topic is introduced and we have a small group discussion. You are given instructions on the art assignment for the week. We get back together in the second session to share and talk about the art, memories and feelings.
