Have you even wondered how a public art is made? Who do you go to when you need something built or are working with a material that you are unfamiliar with? Sometimes, it is the artist that creates the work, but often they are working closely with a fabricator that is actually building all or parts of the installation. In this panel discussion, we will discuss different ways of working with fabricators when thinking about creating 3D public artworks. We will also talk about what it is like to work with artists as a fabricator and what skills you might need to make it easier to work with a variety of fabricators and craftspeople that could be key in helping you build your public artwork.
