United States | 1989 | John Stewart

Not every classic movie accorded a 4K restoration is a La Strada or a Beau Travail. A case in point is this forgotten, Texas-shot indie action flick and drive-in programmer that marked the directorial debut of a veteran Hollywood stuntman. The flimsy plot—the FBI protects a woman from gangsters pursuing stolen diamonds—is just a frame on which to hang a series of ridiculously mind-blowing stunts. So if you like car chases, car flips, car jumps, car crashes, and car explosions, to say nothing of men on fire, men falling from buildings, helicopter pursuits, and Casio soundtracks, then this is the movie for you. Call it Fast & Furious & Flabbergasting & Fatuous. And fun! “A must see for any action fan, and an even muster see for any fan of B-action movies that make you laugh.” –IMDb user christophaskell. With Cameron Mitchell and William Smith. Cleveland revival premiere. 97 min.
