Join us for Studio to the Street, a free information series, funded by CAC, on making the leap from studio art to public art!
Letting your artwork speak for itself
LAND studio project managers Erin Guido and Vince Reddy will discuss how artists can put their best work forward, thus increasing the chances of their work being noticed and achieving success in the public art industry.
Items to be discussed will include managing images of your work and presenting them effectively, writing and talking about what you do concisely and informatively, making connections with fabricators and other service-providers that can make proposals easier to assess and consider, and approaches to presenting your work that you may want to avoid. There will be time for questions at the end of the presentation.
In this presentation we will cover some of the topics that were discussed in last year’s workshops and also talk about ways in which the industry and our thinking have evolved. This session will be useful for experienced, new, and would-be public artists, communities interested in public art, and organizations that have commissioned or are thinking about commissioning public art.
