Altars in the Mexican tradition of the Day of the Dead

Altars in the Mexican tradition of the Day of the Dead

Presented by Mexicanos en Cleveland at Online/Virtual Space

The current commemoration of the Day of the Dead is the result of the syncretism between the Mesoamerican Cosmogonic views and Spanish Catholicism. If you want to learn its meaning or if you want to set up an altar in a respectful manner please attend this conversation. Also, we will be discussing the difference between a personal/family altar, an artistic altar, a public altar, and a touristic event.
This event has been organized with the generous collaboration of Hispanic Film Makers of Cleveland and John Carroll University.
The broadcast will be on Zoom and you can get your tickets via Eventbrite
