DANCECleveland invites you to celebrate Hispanic Cultural Heritage Month with two free virtual dance classes!
Designed for ages 9 on up, these short 15- 30 min classes will provide a fun intro-level class and allow participants of all ages and abilities to explore Flamenco Dance with Alice Blumenfeld and Modern Dance with the renowned dancers of the Limón Dance Company.
Beginner Flamenco- Virtual Dance Class In honor of Hispanic Cultural Month, DANCECleveland invites you to explore Flamenco Dance!
Learn what makes this dance form so expressive and unique! In this class students will receive a brief introduction to flamenco\’s fascinating history in Southern Spain and the cultures from all over the world that influenced it. Then, students will learn the movements of the upper body and arms, footwork, rhythms, and a short flamenco dance. This 30 min. class is designed for ages 9 and up.
Introduction to Modern Dance with Limón Dance Company- Virtual Dance Class Dancers ages 9+ will discover the joy of movement and be introduced to one of America’s modern dance classics: José Limón. This 15-minute on-demand class will allow anyone (parents and grandparents: you, too!) to explore their own creativity, breathe deeply and move with rich intention. Witness your teachers, Eric, Lauren & Terrence dancing in their homes during this time. Then, we hope to see you in a theatre near you when the Limón Dance Company can come to northeast Ohio to share the beautiful dances of José Limón with the community in the future.
These classes are free, but registration is required.
Registrants will receive the exclusive links to their email inbox on September 28th and have access to take the class at their leisure until October 3rd.
