Create At Home - Sun Print Kits

Create At Home - Sun Print Kits

at Shaker Historical Society

Lissauer Gallery artist Samantha Bias is a Cleveland-based experimental contemporary artist who focuses on alternative processes like the cyanotype. Cyanotype is a photographic printing process that produces a cyan-blue print. Engineers used the process well into the 20th century as a simple and low-cost process to produce copies of drawings, referred to as blueprints.

Now you can create your own cyanotype at home at your convenience with Samantha’s “Sun Print” kits! All materials are provided with full written instructions, and an instructional video will be released on Saturday, September 26.

Registration costs $50 per member, $65 per nonmember and ends Sunday, September 13 at 11:59pm. Reduced $20 registration fees are available through the Museums for All program to those receiving SNAP benefits. Please contact us at education@shakerhistory.org if you qualify for a kit at a reduced price.

All kits can be picked up at the Shaker Historical Society September 23-25 during our open hours. Order a kit (or two) today at www.shakerhistory.org!
