Waterloo Makes Music: Tower Music LIVE STREAM Series

Presented by Cleveland Rocks: Past, Present and Future at Online/Virtual Space

Friday August 7th features Non Bruises and Maura Rogers and The Bellows.  Tune in to the CR:PPF Facebook page https://www.facebook.com/ClevelandRocksPastPresentAndFuture/ at 7pm and catch this live musical performance featuring Non Bruises with Maura Rogers and The Bellows.

Non Bruises: Non Bruises are local rock music veterans Elliott Hoffmann, Carol Schumacher, Andy Stibora, and Mike Uva. Mike was looking to start a new band, more of a team effort than his usual singer-songwriter fare. Drone-y, chime-y, not so rhyme-y, he thought, rhyming despite himself. Dust off the delay pedals, make bendy notes, “jam out a bit,” see? And yet, the siren call of sweet pop hooks still held fast. Guy-girl harmonies? Let’s have some of that, too. “I wonder what Carol is up to,” he thought. Everyone wants Carol to play bass in their band. Well, it can’t hurt to ask. Huzzah! She’s into the idea. Mike has a drummer friend, Elliott, whose CV includes “experimental rock.” More importantly, he’s a real gas! Elliott’s into this new band idea. Weirdly, Carol and Elliott used to play in a band together. Well, it’s Cleveland, so maybe not so weird. They three get along well at band practice, they laugh a lot and that’s a gift when the world is falling apart. They write songs on the fly and title them impulsively. Andy comes to their first show. He wants in! The band deliberates. A second guitar could up the chime factor considerably, they agree. Post haste, they call Andy with the good news. They spend the summer looking for a nice brick wall to backdrop their band photo.

Maura Rogers and the Bellows: The passionate vocals and poetic lyrics delivered by Maura Rogers will tug at your heart and the Bellows will get the rest of your body moving. This Americana band rooted in folk, rock, and blues is fronted by three females and rallies a lively mix of vocal harmonies, soul-stirring accordion & guitar leads, and fresh dynamic rhythms.
The band features the famous accordionist Meredith Pangrace, Bass wizard Quinn Hyland, Drum god Jeffrey Babinsky, and legendary guitarist, Al Moses. Maura Rogers and the Bellows have shared the stage with numersou wonderful local bands and touring national bands like Shovels and Rope, Welshly Arms, Mason Jennings, The Dustbowl Revival, Wild Child, Will Hoge, The Accidentals, Kelly Hogan, Freedy Johnson, Ken Stringfellow, Erin McKeown and Freakwater amongst others.
