The Modern World

Presented by Chagrin Arts at Chagrin Arts

Originally from Wisconsin, Jack Kruyne has lived in various regions of the southern United States and was exposed to a variety of art forms as a young boy. He attended Cardinal Stritch University where he found an interest in painting and met his mentor and main influence, Sr. Thomasita Fessler. She is one of the most publicly known artists within the Brielmaier artist family.

Jack uses basic shapes to form the subject and overlaps them to create secondary shapes. This visual interest is a key element to the style as well as vibrant colors. Mr. Kruyne never uses black because he believes it muddies color. To create the feeling of black, he uses a mixture of dark blues and purples. He paint places he has been and things he has seen in life, transforming them into new exciting works of art.
