While trying to locate and identify the remains of “disappeared” relatives of indigenous women who survived, he happens upon a photo that provides a clue about the whereabouts of his own father, another long-missing guerrilla fighter. “As witnesses of the genocide, the Mayan women of Guatemala are the bridge between past and present, repositories of memory and conduits for justice.” –Variety.
