A creative writing and journaling class for anyone who wants to take a deep-dive into their past, document their life, and excavate their creativity.
Everyone has a story to tell, and we can’t wait to unearth yours. Whether you’re writing a memoir or just want to explore the experiences that shaped you, The Life Dig will help you document your life — and excavate your creativity along the way.
This course utilizes a range of creative methods — including Julia Cameron’s “narrative timeline” technique and The Artist’s Way — to take a deep-dive into your past and outline the future you desire. In-class exercises will include journaling, improvisational writing, visualization, small group discussion, and much more.
Join us for this six-week virtual course, which is designed for anyone who is:•
Interested in memoir or personal essay writing
Interested in documenting their life/revisiting their past
Ready to explore the experiences that shaped them creatively
Eager to connect with like-minded creatives and try something new!
Please note: you do not need to be a writer or artist to take this course; nor do you need to be working on a memoir. This course is open to anyone of any background — all you need is a journal, access to the Internet, and an open mind. Dates run from May 6 through June 10, and classes will meet live every Wednesday from 7-9:30 p.m. EST. (Replays will be available for anyone who cannot attend, and there will also be interaction between class in a private Facebook group).
