Butterfly Wing Paper (Canceled)

Presented by Morgan Art of Papermaking Conservatory and Educational Foundation at The Morgan Art of Papermaking Conservatory and Educational Foundation

Canceled due to COVID-19.

Using frames and a matrix of thread, learn to build thin sheets of handmade paper from a variety of fibers. There will be discussion of different characteristics of abaca, cotton, and flax fibers, and experimentation will be encouraged. You will learn how to use earth pigments as a colorant to add dimensionality to your work. You can expect to leave with an array of small samples and experiments and two or three larger pieces of low relief abstract sculptural paper and/or decorative sheets that could be incorporated into books or collages.
