Learn the art of papercasting from the Morgan’s founder and Artistic Director Tom Balbo, and create low relief, cast paper panels from a variety of re-purposed and everyday objects.
Canceled due to COVID-19.
Learn the art of papercasting from the Morgan’s founder and Artistic Director, Tom Balbo. Tom has developed a process in which repurposed, everyday objects are placed on the surface of a vacuum table to create a composition. Pigmented pulp is then poured on top, and the vacuum table removes the water from the pulp to form the cast. Smaller-scale casting processes suitable for a home or classroom studio will also be demonstrated. The results are low relief, cast paper panels comprised of a variety of textures, shapes, and colors.
