Upcycle Workshop

Presented by Bonfoey Gallery at Bonfoey Gallery

Join us on Saturday, May 2 as we combine forces with Upcycle Parts Shop to create a fabulous wall hanging using a frame from Bonfoey Gallery. We will begin with a behind the scenes tour of Bonfoey’s framing and gilding departments, pop into some of the gallery’s artwork storage rooms and view their exhibit “Cause for Change”. Then we will move downstairs* to our lower gallery/ makeshift workshop studio where we will craft, snack, and socialize. After showing you the basic technique, you’ll have access to Upcycle Parts Shop’s epic buffet of fabric, yarn, wire, ribbons, beads, baubles, and other fun knick knacks so you can make the frame-y wall hanging of your dreams. We’ll provide some snacks, coffee, and water.

*Please note that our downstairs workshop space is accessible via stairs only.

Buy a ticket for yourself plus a friend or loved one and make some memories together. Or, come solo and make some new crafty pals! We are happy to work with creativity naysayers, fair weather crafters, artsy pros, and everyone in between.

This workshop is suggested for adults or adolescents accompanied by a parent.

This is my first time hearing about Upcycle Parts Shop. What’s the deal?

Upcycle Parts Shop is a creative reuse center located in the St. Clair-Superior neighborhood of Cleveland. In the retail storefront they sell low-cost craft supplies and upcycleable treasures, all generously donated by individuals and corporations in our community. Since opening in 2014, they have diverted over 30 tons of usable material from the landfill! Whether or not you can make the workshop, they’d love to see you in the shop during our weekly retail hours. They are open to the public on Thursdays and Fridays from 2-6 PM and Saturdays from 10-4 PM. Please visit their website for more information about the shop, mission, and donation guidelines: www.upcyclepartsshop.org

What can I expect when I arrive?
