FlucT: Remotecontrol

FlucT: Remotecontrol

Presented by Cleveland Institute of Art at Reinberger Gallery

Join us as New York City-based performance duo FlucT, the collaborative work of Sigrid Lauren and Monica Mirabile, perform “Remotecontrol” from 6 to 7pm Thursday, February 20 in Reinberger Gallery. This event is free and open to the public.

“Remotecontrol” is a situational psycho poem made of iconographic movement and audio dictations taken from the American cultural media output of 2018 and prior and multiplied by the margins of semiotic space found in the relationship between Mirabile and Lauren, creating an anti-language that communicates. Its principles rest in the dissection of its properties.

Mirabile and Lauren will also speak at Lunch on Fridays at 12:15pm Friday, February 21 in the Peter B. Lewis Theater.

FlucT’s visit to CIA is sponsored by the George P. Bickford Visiting Artist Fund and the Sculpture + Expanded Media Department. The Bickford Visiting Artist Fund is one of two dedicated funds at CIA that supports the continued practice of providing free and open dialogue on creative issues to students and the community. Each year, those funds help bring in professionals from the extensive network of partnerships that CIA faculty fosters.
