Why does Akron have the highest eviction rate in the state? The Sound of Ideas will explore this trend with some help from the community.
In Akron, an average of almost seven renters a day are evicted from their homes. The city has the highest eviction rate in the state and 24th highest of any city in the nation. The Sound of Ideas, hosted by Mike McIntyre, will go on the road to hold a community conversation about this trend and how the community is responding. Join us on Monday, February 24 at the Akron-Summit County Public Library for the second stop of our 2020 Community Tour.
The Sound of Ideas Community Tour brings 90.3 WCPN ideastream’s radio show out of the studio and into neighborhoods across Northeast Ohio to talk directly with residents about issues that are important to them.
ideastream is supported in part by the residents of Cuyahoga County through a public grant from Cuyahoga Arts & Culture.
The event is free and open to the public and, as always, those in attendance are invited to ask questions and share thoughts throughout the discussion. Seating will be provided on a first come, first served basis.
