Caring for your paintings at home

Caring for your paintings at home

Presented by ICA-Art Conservation at ICA-Art Conservation

The portrait of Great Aunt Gertrude, a diploma, the watercolor you bought on vacation, all of these and more help to make a house your home.

Once we hang items on the walls of our homes we have a tendency to forget about the general care and maintenance that can help them last for generations to come.

Come spend an entertaining and educational hour with paintings conservators Andrea Chevalier and Wendy Partridge as they discuss what you can do in your home to keep paintings and framed objects safe and clean.

There is street parking;  it is sometimes difficult to find so leave yourself some time to park. Although our street address is 2915 Detroit Avenue, the actual entrance to the lab is on the street behind, Church Avenue.  We have a big bluish-gray door that is directly opposite the entrance to the CMA Transformer Station.  Push the buzzer to the right of the door.  We will buzz you in and come down and meet you. If you have any accessibility issues or need an elevator for mobility, please let me know so we can accommodate you.
