Hear author Holly George-Warren discuss her newest book “Janis: Her Life and Music” – presented in conjunction with the Rock Halls Women’s History Month Celebration
Holly George-Warren is a two-time Grammy nominee and the award-winning author of sixteen books, including the biography Janis: Her Life and Music. Holly will discuss this intimate profile of Janis Joplin, establishing her as the Queen of Rock & Roll and as the rule-breaking musical trailblazer and complicated, gender-bending rebel she was. Mary Bridget Davies will wrap up the program with an acoustic performance followed by book signing with Holly George-Warren.
Holly George-Warren is a two-time Grammy nominee and the award-winning author of sixteen books, including the bestseller Janis: Her Life and Music, The Road to Woodstock (with Michael Lang), A Man Called Destruction: The Life and Music of Alex Chilton, and Public Cowboy No. 1: The Life and Times of Gene Autry, among others. She has written for numerous publications, including The New York Times, Rolling Stone, and Entertainment Weekly. George-Warren serves on the nominating committee of the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame and teaches at the State University of New York at New Paltz.
Doors open at 6:30pm and the interview begins at 7pm. Tickets are $15 and go on-sale to Rock Hall Members at 10am on Wednesday, January 22 and non-members at 10am on Friday, January 24.
