About Revealed, Emerging Artist Series 2020
The Sculpture Center invites early career artists of the greater Ohio region whose practice includes sculpture, installation, mixed and expanded media, relational aesthetics, and performance to apply for inclusion in its annual Revealed Emerging Artist Series (formerly Window to Sculpture or W2S). Through this keystone program, now in its thirtieth year, The Sculpture Center fosters and promotes the careers of exceptional sculptors during the first ten years of their profession. Four to six artists are selected annually by a diverse Exhibition Committee for one-person, full gallery exhibitions of new work in our galleries. We are proud to present Nate Ricciuto and Lisa Walcott as the first artists of the 2020 Revealed program.
Nate Ricciuto, “Sitting Flesh”
A native of Dayton, Ohio, and current Instructor of Glass at The Ohio State University, artist Nate Ricciuto will present immersive elements and sculptural objects that explore the idea of restlessness and how it can bring about hidden encounters. Informed by an exploration of both the desire to imagine different worlds and the myriad strategies for achieving them, this exhibition seeks to uncover and reinterpret motives for social change.
Lisa Walcott “Sink In”
Based in Holland, Michigan, and a 2010 graduate of the Cranbrook Academy of Art, MI, Lisa Walcott’s exhibition analyzes elements of daily life, such as files, hooks, ledges, folds, drawers, lamp extensions, and window coverings, that may both help and hinder the tasks of daily life.
