We celebrate the 70th anniversary of Israel’s statehood by telling the story behind this colorful and passionate 1961 Broadway production, the first with music and lyrics by Jerry Herman, who went on to write three of the biggest hits of his time: HELLO, DOLLY!, MAME and LA CAGE AUX FOLLES.
