Letterpress Fundamentals: Print Your Own Greeting Cards:
Letterpress printing is a great way to add a personal touch to items such as stationary, thank you notes, and cards. You will learn the basics of setting lead and wood type by hand, and you will master the mechanics of printing on the Morgan’s incredible, flexible Vandercook presses. At the end of the weekend, you will walk away with a small edition of handset, hand printed letterpress cards, and knowledge of the Morgan’s letterpress studio.
About the instructor:
Wendy Partridge is a letterpress printer, book artist, and paintings conservator. She helped establish, and for a number of years, was the coordinator for the letterpress studio at Zygote Press. She teaches several workshops each year on letterpress printing. In 2012 she was awarded an artist residency through Zygote and the Ohio Arts Council to spend five weeks at the Grafikwerkstatt in Dresden, Germany.
