Archibald Willard (1836-1918) in Paintings Conservation

Presented by ICA-Art Conservation at ICA-Art Conservation

In 2016 Wellington, Ohio Masonic Lodge #127 donated three monumental paintings by Ohio artist Archibald Willard (1836-1918) to the Southern Lorain County Historical Society (Better known as the Spirit of 1776 Museum) in Wellington, Ohio.  This year the Society was the recipient of an Ohio History Fund Grant to help conserve and display the painting of the three in the best condition.  This is a rare chance to see this work before it goes on display in the museum, to learn a bit about Willard, Masonic history, and to talk about the role of the paintings conservator in preserving works of art for future generations.
