Activities Will Include:

Shaping Space — Switch, shift, and set the abstract shapes found in our Learning Labs into patterns and arrangements that are interesting to you. How does reordering and reorganizing them change your perspective on the room? What does it feel like to create the path of movement, boundaries, or areas of rest? How do you decide when your arrangement is complete? What happens when you work with a partner?

Under the Same Sky — The artist Byron Kim has painted a piece of the sky once a week for the last 18 years. The Sunday Painting series as a whole reveals small changes in the sky’s colors, patterns, and shapes. Although we’re all under the same sky, Kim’s Sunday Paintings reflects his individual observations of a universal element. Look out the window and notice what colors, patterns, and shapes are in the sky then use the materials provided to make your own portrait of the sky.
