The Sound of Ideas Community Tour: Education in Warrensville Heights

Presented by Ideastream Public Media at Cuyahoga County Public Library Warrensville Heights Branch

Usually, a “D” on a report card would be cause for concern, but for the Warrensville Heights School District, it shows progress. The once-failing district narrowly avoided a state takeover last fall by raising its state report card from “F” to “D.”  Other districts haven’t been as fortunate: Lorain, Youngstown and East Cleveland are all under state control after multiple fails.

Join us for this year’s fifth stop of The Sound of Ideas Community Tour, hosted by Mike McIntyre, as we engage in conversation with the school superintendent, community leaders and residents about the challenges facing inner-ring school districts like Warrensville Heights and what it takes to raise a failing grade.

As always, our audience is welcome to ask questions and share thoughts throughout the program. It’s free and open to the public.

ideastream is supported in part by the residents of Cuyahoga County through a public grant from Cuyahoga Arts & Culture.
