National Public Lands Day

National Public Lands Day

Presented by Doan Brook Watershed Partnership and Nature Center at Shaker Lakes at Lower Shaker Lake

Started in 1994, National Public Lands Day is the largest single-day effort to preserve and protect public lands in the nation. In honor of this special occasion and in recognition of the spectacular green spaces that we have right here in the Doan Brook watershed, the Nature Center at Shaker Lakes, Doan Brook Watershed Partnership, and Friends of Lower Lake will be hosting a volunteer, stewardship work day in the Shaker Parklands around Lower Shaker Lake. Tasks may include clearing invasive vegetation, cleaning up trash, and/or planting native plants.

We will meet at the Lower Lake dam (Brook Road on Google Maps) between North Park Blvd and South Park Blvd on the western shore of Lower Lake. Street parking will be available on Brook Road or on South Park Blvd.

To register, please visit the Nature Center at Shaker Lakes website.  For more information, please contact Kristina Arthur at the Nature Center at Shaker Lakes: arthur@shakerlakes.org or 216-321-5935 ext. 237
