Music by Marais, Clérambault, Couperin and Biber provides a soundtrack for the Countess D’Aulnoy’s 17th-Century feminist fairytale The White Cat. Unlike the wily, manipulative cat of the better-known story, Puss in Boots, this feline heroine uses ingenuity, generosity, and a bit of magic to help a guileless young prince and to celebrate the power of love!
