Dance Nation (POSTPONED)

Dance Nation (POSTPONED)

Presented by Dobama Theatre at Dobama Theatre

Don’t miss this Pulitzer Prize Finalist that was on every 2018 Theatre Top Ten List in New York. This groundbreaking exploration of girlhood is full of humor, suspense, and high-energy dancing.

Dobama Theatre continues its 60th Anniversary Season with Dance Nation by Clare Barron, directed by Shannon Sindelar.

Dance Nation features an army of preteen competitive dancers who are plotting to take over the world. And if their new routine is good enough, they’ll claw their way to the top at the Boogie Down Grand Prix in Tampa Bay. A play about ambition, growing up, and how to be ourselves in the heat of it all, this exciting portrait of a competitive middle-school dance troupe explores both the exhilaration and the raw terror of being a kid through the story of a group of thirteen-year-olds played by a cast of adult actors.
