From Risk to Resilience - Community Forum and Live Taping

From Risk to Resilience - Community Forum and Live Taping

Presented by Ideastream Public Media at The Idea Center | Playhouse Square

We’ll discuss the troubling increases in depressive symptoms, suicidal thoughts, and missing school due to safety concerns among middle schoolers in the county. We will also explore the increase of vaping among 7th and 8th graders.

By attending this special event you will also hear about ways to strengthen the safety net for at-risk adolescents and what teachers, principals, and parents can do to help reverse these trends.

From Risk to Resilience will be moderated by ideastream’s Marlene Harris-Taylor and feature an expert panel representing local adolescent advocacy agencies, neighborhood organizations, and researchers from Case Western Reserve University.

Members of the audience will be able to submit questions for the panel to address during the presentation.

The event will be recorded for future broadcast on WVIZ/PBS and 90.3 WCPN ideastream. It is presented in partnership with the Prevention Research Center for Healthy Neighborhoods at the Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine.
