A six-session civic education series that provides an understanding of Cleveland’s civic landscape, including arts and culture, and highlights ways to get involved.
Civic Leadership Institute (CLI) provides a behind-the-scenes look at the past, the present, and the future of our community. CLI will connect you to the people, places, and projects moving Cleveland forward and will provide you with a strong foundation for professional and civic advancement.
Through CLI, you will learn from top leaders about community issues such as health and human services, arts and culture, education, and the economy. You will also gain a greater understanding of the connectedness of community assets, organizations and issues, and how they impact the local public and private landscapes.
CLI is open to adults of all ages. The cost for representatives of for-profit businesses is $500, and nonprofit/government employees is $350. Registration is open until the class is filled.

The program kicks off with an evening networking reception to start building connections with classmates and community leaders. It concludes with an evening session and reception that helps participants find new ideas and ways to get civically involved.
CLI is offered as a series in the fall, winter and spring. If you are unable to attend a session day this fall, you will be able to “make up” that day’s topic in a subsequent series.
Upon completing CLI, participants become part of the Cleveland Leadership Center alumni base of more than 8,600 individuals who care about our community and actively work for its improvement.
