LECTURE & TALK-BACK: Becoming A Butterfly: Autism & The Monarch School

LECTURE & TALK-BACK: Becoming A Butterfly: Autism & The Monarch School

Presented by Maltz Museum at Maltz Museum

In response to the ever-increasing need for specialized services to accommodate a growing Autism population and lack of local resources, Bellefaire JCB established the Monarch School for Children and Youth with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) in 2000—Ohio’s first chartered school specifically for children with ASD. Today, the program has grown to be known as the Monarch Center for Autism and provides services ranging from preschool to supported living to adult programming for more than 200 individuals. Join Bellefaire JCB’s Debra Mandell, Director of Monarch Center for Autism and Carl Brass, Executive Director, Lifeworks Adult Autism Services for a discussion on addressing ongoing and diverse needs of ASD youth and plans to ensure care as this growing population ages.
