Artist Reception for Urban Centrifuge

Artist Reception for Urban Centrifuge

Presented by Cleveland Institute of Art at Beck Center for the Arts

Join us for the opening reception of Urban Centrifuge, an exhibition curated by Cass Penegor, a CIA student majoring in Drawing and Printmaking.

According to Penegor, “Urban Centrifuge is an exploration between the connections of art and theatre. At first glance, visual art and theatre seem like vastly different art forms. However, they are fundamentally connected. Our project is derived from the mind of a visual artist who inspired the vision of a playwright. Urban Centrifuge looks at the internal dialogue that many experience without realizing that they’re not alone. Our show, made up of works on paper and three short plays, transports the viewer into the inner workings of the mind and the internal cities we construct to process the world around us.”

Penegor organized this project as part of the Cleveland Institute of Art Creativity Works program, supported by the Fenn Educational Fund and the G.R. Lincoln Family Foundation.
