Waterloo Makes Music: Tower Music Series

Friday June 7th features the David Smeltz Trio and The John McGrail Trio.

David Smeltz co-founded the first American Reggae band in the state of Ohio. The reggae band, I-Tal, has entertained audiences for over 40 years. David has currently released a 9 song CD entitled “Recovered” on his Smeltz Good Music label. He has most recently formed his 3 piece band the “Smeltztones” with local veteran musicians, Eva Dilcue (Vocals) and Chris DiSantis (percussion). They are originators of a new genre of music: Reggae-Recovery-Folk-Rock!
Cleveland based singer songwriter John McGrail has been writing music for the last 40 years and performing for over 35 of those years. His tastes are wide as is exemplified by the variety of artist with whom he has shared a stage. He has performed with or opened for Ellis Paul, the Irish group The Chieftains, East LA Tex-Mex group Las Cafeteras, The Cowboy Junkies, New Age artist Larkin, native American songwriter Bill Miller and political folk songwriter Dan Bern amongst others.
