Kent State’s Cleveland Urban Design Collaborative invites you to experience two immersive lighting installations on the streetcar level of the Detroit Superior Bridge by UK artists Squidsoup.
Please join us on June 19 to be among the first to see Squidsoup’s installations, entitled Ascendance and Cuyahoga Flow. The Squidsoup installations are made possible thanks to the generous support of the Cleveland Foundation’s Creative Fusion program, Waterways to Waterways edition.
The preview event is free, but reservations are required. All visitors to the bridge should wear flat shoes. You’ll need to bring a legal form of ID and sign a waiver to enter the streetcar level of the bridge. Entry is on the east (Downtown) side on W Superior Avenue, near the Settler’s Landing stop on the RTA Waterfront Line.

Detroit Superior Bridge, Streetcar Level

The streetcar level of the Detroit Superior Bridge is an unfinished space with an uneven floor surface. Most areas can be accessed via wheelchair. This is a night time event and visibility on the streetcar level is limited by low-lighting conditions. All participants will need to sign a waiver and exercise caution while on the bridge.
