Designing Victory; A Memoir - Book Signing with Robert P Madison and Carlo Wolff

Shaker Heights, Ohio – Join us Tuesday May 28th at 7pm at the Shaker Heights Public Library (SHPL) for a special Book Signing with Robert P Madison. This event is co-sponsored by the SHPL and will feature Robert Madison and his autobiographer Carlo Wolff.

Robert Madison, a 2014 Movers and Shakers honoree. Madison, the first black recipient of an architecture degree in Ohio is also the founder of the first black-owned architecture firm in the state – Robert P. Madison International. Madison was born in Cleveland, earned his degree at Western Reserve University and went on to study at Harvard University and the Ecole des Beaux-Arts in Paris. He also fought in Italy with the famous Buffalo Soldiers of the 92nd Infantry Division and was wounded in action, which resulted in his earning a purple heart.

His firm Robert P. Madison International, launched in 1954, had a hand in designing some of Cleveland’s most notable buildings including the renovated Cleveland Public Library, the Great Lakes Science Center, Cleveland Browns Stadium, Quicken Loans Arena and the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and Museum.
