Come learn about Cleveland Print Room’s Teen Institute and our youth photography programs! This informational meeting for parents and students will focus on our POV Arts Mastery program that will run during the 2019/2020 school year.

Teen Institute’s POV is open to 35 motivated students to advance their photography skills and develop an awareness of the creative and professional possibilities in the field. These self-selected students learn the skill of mastering photography by investing the time necessary to build the skill set that lets them create photos with confidence and proficiency.

POV is a yearlong program providing students with guidance from some of Cleveland’s best teaching artists; field trips to museums, galleries, and studios; college prep workshops; pre-professional assignments; mentorships in the field; community panel discussions, artist talks and full access to CPR’s facilities. The curriculum provides students with in-depth study of photography genres, including self-portraiture, documentary, photojournalism, personal vision, and studio work. All aspects are intended to encourage and inspire students to further express and strengthen their artistic voices. At the completion of the program, students will have created an extensive portfolio in film and digital, including an artist’s statement and resume, and participate in a gallery exhibition. This program is best suited for students looking to pursue photography further in college and/or as a career, however dedicated hobbyists are welcome. Interested students must submit a portfolio and written application by August 1, 2019.
