All are welcome to West Park for our festive homecoming celebration. In Ireland “hooley” is a word for a lively gathering. In Cleveland, The Hooley™ is an annual block party with live music, tasty food, engaging entertainment, and unique art.
Moved this year from mid May to mid June, it is THE place to be on a day that is a treat for the senses! Restaurants open their patios, kids roam freely to play games or create art, booths line up along the curbs, and music fills the air as Lorain Avenue takes on a joyful atmosphere from from West 165th to Rocky River Drive.
The opening ceremony begins at noon on the main stage at Rocky River Drive, facing east on Lorain Avenue. In order of appearance, performing are: Cleveland Firefighters Memorial Pipes and Drums, The Kilroys, the Wallace Coleman Band, Monica Robins Ninja Cowboys, Cleveland Firefighters Memorial Pipes and Drums, Monica Robins Ninja Cowboys (again), and The Front.
The Family Stage at West 165th Street, sponsored by Dollar Bank, will provide entertainment appealing to a younger crowd. Irish dancers from four dance schools will perform, each showcasing their distinctive style. Appearing will be: Burke School of Irish Dance, Brady Campbell Irish Dance School, Leneghan Academy of Irish Dance, and Cannon Irish Dance. Other acts include juggling by John Flower and performances by the West Side Irish American Club Pipe Band, and Tri C Rock Off favorites 2 Seconds to the Basement, and Category 5. Andrew McManus will perform Irish ballads, and for the younger set, enjoy a Frozen sing-along with Elsa and Anna!
