Visiting from Berlin, artist Lila Rose Kole returns to Cleveland for two weeks of workshops, artist talks, and exhibitions of new work
Known for paintings imbued with abstract colors and emotive compositions, Lila Rose Kole works and plays in her atelier in Berlin, Germany where she collaborates with her partner, Kenno Apatrida, an outsider artist who has been making and exhibiting internationally for more 20 years.
Lila’s artistic roots are in Cleveland. She began her prolific career as a working artist while Gallery Director of Hartshorn Studios in Tremont and later co-partnered and opened a gallery, The Vault, in 78th Street Studios. Her compelling artwork met immediate critical and commercial success. Numerous solo and group shows followed, including the 2015 New York Solo Expo. During an extended sabbatical to Europe and the Middle East in 2016, Lila encountered new ways of art making and of living a life in art. Intrigued by what she found, she moved to Berlin to explore her creative life more deeply.

78th Street Studios is located at the west end of the Gordon Square Arts District in Cleveland, Ohio. If you look at the Google Map below, you’ll see that our property is just .4 mile east of the intersection where Route 2 The Shoreway becomes Clifton Boulevard and intersects with Lake Road.
Because our building spans two blocks and has three different entrances, the United States Postal Service has required us to use three different addresses. This is why you see different mailing addresses for different tenants. Here’s how it works:
The ADA Lift, to access the first floor, is located off of W. 80th Street Driveaway, Please call 440.503.5506 in advance for assistance during business hours. If the ADA lift is locked (for building security purposes) please call that same number. We will make every effort to assist you promptly.
