Cuyahoga River Water Walk Informational Meeting

Cuyahoga River Water Walk Informational Meeting

Presented by Cleveland Print Room, Inc. at Cleveland Print Room Gallery

As part of this year’s Cleveland Foundation’s Creative Fusion project and the Cuyahoga50: Anniversary Week events taking place surrounding the commemoration of the 50 year anniversary of the river burning, the Cleveland Print Room is presenting a Sacred River Walk led by Ojibwe elder from Minnesota, Sharon Day the third week of June, 2019. This water walk will begin at the Cuyahoga’s headwaters in northern Ohio and end four days later, in a process in which Day leads a group that carries the sacred river water to the mouth of the Cuyahoga where it empties into Lake Erie. Participants in this Native American ritual can walk the length (or part) of the Cuyahoga River, praying for its return to unpolluted health. Day will speak to the water, sing to the water, pray for the water. Join us to attain information for those interested in participating in preparation of the walk.

Please RSVP for this informational meeting at 216 401-5981. This is one of four community meetings that will provide details for those interested in finding out about or participating in this event.
