The Sound of Ideas Community Tour brings 90.3 WCPN ideastream’s radio show out of the studio and into neighborhoods across Northeast Ohio to talk directly to residents about issues that are important to them.
The second stop of the 2019 tour is in Ashtabula, where we will address the important issue of healthcare access.
Ashtabula County is the largest county in the state by area, and many residents have to travel long distances to receive routine medical care. Three-fourths of adults traveled outside of the county in the past year to receive care, mainly for dental and specialty services. In order to meet this underserved population, a national non-profit, Remote Area Medical, is coming to Ashtabula for the second year in a row to provide free medical services to the uninsured or underinsured population. We will be on the ground at this year’s clinic to talk to healthcare providers, patients and the community at-large about health access issues.
You are invited to join us at Ashtabula Towne Square on Friday, April 5 beginning at 4:30pm. We’ll take audience questions and comments throughout the show.
Registration is encouraged. Event is free and open to the public.
