Under the direction of Brian Bailey performance of Dona Nobis Pacem and companion pieces on the theme of peace will be accompanied by a chamber ensemble and soloists from the Greater Cleveland area. The cantata is an impassioned plea for peace whose text includes passages from sources such as the Old Testament, the Catholic Mass, and poems of Walt Whitman. As part of the event, audience members will receive a small booklet of poems on peace written and contributed gratis by Cleveland area poets specifically for this event.
