Sondra Perry’s moCa exhibition, A Terrible Thing, explores the often-invisible yet ever-present architecture, labor, and infrastructure within museums and the interplay between how people make spaces, and how spaces and materials shape people.
Sondra Perry is the inaugural winner of Toby’s Prize, moCa’s biennial award that recognizes excellence in an emerging contemporary artist and provides her/him/them with an exhibition, catalog, and $50,000. Perry is increasingly recognized for her interdisciplinary work that features video, computer-based media, sculpture, and at times, performance.
Her moCa exhibition, A Terrible Thing, explores the often-invisible yet ever-present architecture, labor, and infrastructure within museums and the interplay between how people make spaces, and how spaces and materials shape people. Join Perry as she reflects on her research and process to create this and other recent projects during this special opening day exhibition talk.
