Jessica Pinsky is an artist and Adjunct Faculty member at the Cleveland Institute of Art. In Collaboration with CIA, Pinsky helped to relocate the weaving equipment from the fiber department and opened Praxis Fiber Workshop, a nonprofit textile studio located in the Waterloo Arts District of East Cleveland where she is currently the Executive Director.
Within her practice, which includes fiber, installation, video, and work on paper, Pinsky often uses natural fibers to explore human memory, life-experience, and the connections between human skin and tissue. Pinsky grew up in Akron, Ohio and moved to Cleveland in 2011 after receiving a BFA in Studio Art from New York University in 2006 and an MFA in painting from Boston University in 2009. HEr work has been shown extensively throughout Northeast Ohio as well as Massachusetts, Maine, and New York.
