Artists on Art: Sarah Paul on Lee Mingwei’s Sonic Blossom

Presented by Museum of Contemporary Art Cleveland at Museum of Contemporary Art Cleveland

Artists on Art talks features artists working in Northeast Ohio. Building upon similarities in material, process, or subject matter, these artists share original interpretations about one or more artworks in our galleries.

Sarah Paul is a Cleveland based multi-disciplinary artist who is an Associate Professor and Chair of Sculpture and Expanded Media at the Cleveland Institute of Art. Through sculpture, video, photo, installation, performance, and sound Paul’s work explores the history of the Northeast Ohio and the current ecosystem of Cleveland. Often her work celebrates the often unheralded elements of Cleveland that make it unique. She received her BS in Mathematics from the University at Albany, and her MFA in Fine Art from the University at Buffalo. Recent and forthcoming exhibitions and performances include SPACES Gallery, Sculpture Center Cleveland, moCa Cleveland, Albright-Knox Gallery, UB Art Gallery, and the Newhouse Center for Contemporary Art.
