Forced Into Genocide: Memoirs of An Armenian Soldier in The Ottoman Turkish Army

Presented by Maltz Museum and Case Western Reserve University Siegal Lifelong Learning at Maltz Museum

Forced into Genocide is the memoir of Yervant E. Alexanian (1895–1983), who witnessed the Armenian Genocide in Ottoman Turkey as a conscript in the Turkish army. Through Alexanian’s eyes we relive the Genocide’s astonishing cruelty—and also rare, unexpected acts of humanity. Yervant’s daughter Adrienne G. Alexanian has spent years preparing her father’s manuscript for publication. Join her and Ara Bagdasarian for this riveting lecture, excerpt reading, and book signing.
